lost password

Well... let's just say I definitely forgot my password and randomly thought to try a different one tonight... and I found it! Yayy!!
So here is a quick update on my life...

The semester is coming to an end and I am CRAMMED packed full of stuff I need to do and get done. My classes are really demanding this last 2 weeks and I can not wait for it to be over! I have definitely learned a lot this first semester so here are a few things
1. God is most important, above all!
2. Family will help get you anything and everything! SERIOUSLY!
3. Going to class is vital to pass
4. Never stay out past midnight on a "school" night... you won't get up for class
5. Late night trips to the local 24/7 donut shop aka GADS is absolutely a must!
6. Roommates are important... good thing I love mine!
7. Read professor reviews before signing up for their class.. definitely would have helped me
8. Always smile and be happy because you never do know who is watching you! :)
9. School is important, so make it one of your top priorities
10. The "Valley" at Western is probably the loudest place ever!

So many things have gone on I can't even begin to start telling it all but we go to pick up Brennen from the airport next Friday I absolutely can not wait.. I'm going home this weekend for my last weekend at home with peace and quiet aka without Brennen! :) hahaha... I can't wait to see her, God blessed me so much by giving me a twin..

Now it's bed time so later dudes.. I'll be posting more frequently! At least I will try to!

printer palooza

I honestly have no idea what palozza means but oh well... it sounds cool

So someone gave me a printer, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Mac compatible and it didn't have a USB port so I went out and bought myself a printer

I got myself a prettty white printer, scanner, card reader, and copier! How cool is that!

I even set it all up myself! I am so super proud of myself!

labor day weekend

I went home for the weekend which was great because I got to see a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while, even since before I left for school... but Dad was working on the Mattingly's house for Extreme Makeover so I really didn't get to see him until Monday and mom went to the river so it was just me Saturday and Sunday.... I went on a long bike ride which I decided I will get my bike up here in Bowling Green at school because that is super fun to ride haha... but anyways my favorite part about the weekend was daddy time on Monday

Dad and I slept in and then went and ate at Cracker Barrel and then we did like we always do when we are together, I talk alot and he attempts to listen and he tells me some stuff and then we go look at a job site and load a trailer up or something of that sort because I think that stuff is super cool.... Well I watched him do some stuff on the excavator which really makes me want to become a heavy equipment operator but that is besides the point. We went to rural king to get something for his work and went and got my bike so he can get it fixed. Mostly we rode around in his truck and just had time together which I love... He is probably what I miss most about home.

I ended up having to go to the doctor because I have been sick for who knows how long and I have a throat and sinus infection which is ZERO fun. Thankfully, we have family here in BG that has a pharmacy so he got me the medicines quickly and I'm on an antibiotic and cough medicine. The cough medicine knocks me out which it's starting to work now so adios my friends... theres my most recent update

oh and I studied for 3 hours tonight, I'm proud of myself...

History = horrible

History 119 is going to be the death of me. This class is the reason I am sitting at my desk right now and the reason I sat at my desk for 2 1/2 hours last night... I am going to have to constantly study for this class and I probably won't have a life with this class...

He told us it would probably be our hardest Gen Ed class and I believe him... I am already NOT good at History and then I have a very difficult class... This will be a test of my patience for sure but I will make it though this class!

Oh well, off to studying... I figured I would let you all know about how horrible this class would be

Oh and to make matters worse, I have this class with Luke (my cousin)... who studied for 30 minutes last night and remembered more than I who studied for 2 1/2 hours and took 4 pages (front AND back) of notes.... I mean seriously? Why can't history come easy for me!

First day of college! (it's a lengthy one)

I made it through my first and second day as a college student... so here is my story :)

On Monday I woke up in time to take a shower and get ready which is impressive for me even though I still just threw my hair up in a pony tail, but hey it's college, who do I need to impress?
I ate my cereal (with the gross red top milk because thats ALL they had, grosss) so I could be ready for the day ahead! I loaded up my backpack and took my first day of school picture and off to class I went.

First class was econ, I walked into the wrong building but there was a sweet guy that I said is this Grise Hall and he said no and pointed me in the right direction :) Econ went good, especially when I realized the guy that sat next to me had Toms shoes on just like me! I didn't tell him how cool I thought he was just because of his shoes but he definitely has got to be cool! I was singled out for being a Math Major he wanted me to figure out this problem that I had no idea how to do and I just said well heck I don't know! but I have a feeling Economics is going to be super easy because of my teacher Mr. Dixon in Gulf Shores that prepared me so well! After Economics I headed to Biology. I found the right place and everything but definitely TRIPPED up the stairs right in front of a guy and we both started laughing and he asked if i was okay and I said no biggy it happens all the time, I'm sure he's still laughing because it was quite hilarious! Biology will be easy, it's a big class, which I like! After Biology is Western Civ which is going to be ridiculously hard. Luke (my cousin) and I have that class together, he was late but I picked up papers for him and caught him up :) My professor talks super fast and I can't write that fast but I will pass the class I am determined! Luke and I then went to chik fil a and ate lunch... I love having my cousin here, he definitely helps make it not so hard to be away from home we laugh alot.

We were definitely blessed yesterday with beautiful weather.

On Mondays I have a class called Step 1 which is like exploring if teaching math or science is something you really want to do. I have a feeling I am going to LOVE that class. It's going to be super fun. We actually get to go to schools and teach lessons to 4th, 5th, or 6th graders! I can't wait!

After that I came up to the dorm and CRASHED!

Tuesday (today) was great. Class doesn't start on Tuesdays until 935 and my first class is Life Fitness. Our professor requested a big room to seat around 90 people considering our class had 78 but they gave him a room that only seats 45. Therefore we were forced to split into two groups. Meaning I only have to go to class on Tuesdays now instead of both Tuesdays and Thursdays! SWEEEET. Then I have my easy one hour class called University Experience that is just about college in general so I think it will be fun. I got to eat at a food court called Garret that I hadn't eaten at yet with Audrey and Jamon and it was pretty good. I am impressed!

I then came back to the dorm and took a nap and now I am doing homework and have a floor meeting at 730. I love college!

Sermon Notes... Yeah, it was THAT good!

I decided to try out Hilvue Heights Church here in Bowling Green and what a blessing.. The pastor speaks the truth and nothing but the truth whether it's harsh or not! So here is some of the things he said..

He was talking about "crossing's" in Joshua 3 starting in verse 1 if you want to go read it :)

  • You are a child of God and no one can take that away. God is in charge of your life.
  • You will ALWAYS be in transition, no matter what the circumstances
  • If you are a christian you are in a transition to HEAVEN!
  • God goes by what He says and when you do what God says, the promises of God will become a reality, in the present moment.
  • His promises can NOT be revoked... (Did you get that? can NOT)
  • When you don't listen to God problems will be bigger than they already were
  • If your gunna follow God, you HAVE to be ready
  • Failure always has an excuse...
  • In order to consecrate yourself you need to be in worship on a regular basis.
  • God called us to worship and live.
  • Do something with what God has done
  • Sometimes God will bring you to a difficult moment so we know how big of a God he is!
  • His promises are always greater than our reality
  • God calls us to be a priesthood (go before others so they can cross to, just like in the story ark of the covenant, the priesthood went before the rest)
  • Examples of "Crossing"
  • -Parting the red sea (was done by God alone)
  • -The Jordan River (God used the priest hood for his miracle, Read Joshua 3:1-16)
  • Sometimes when you take a step is when you see God move, such as the priesthood stepping into the Jordan
  • If the church has been faithful then the 'waters' will part that God moves you through
  • Have you put your feet in the water?
  • Take on the world as consecrated people!
  • God is ahead of us and His truth
  • When you wake up say to yourself "I have been created to live, How am I going to live today?"
  • Unbelievable things happen with an unbelievable God!

Voice of Truth

So last night I was having a super rough night and was trying to figure out why in the world God would send me to Western Kentucky University when all there is to do is go to a frat party which I personally think are way over rated... but anyways.. I was dealing with a bunch of things last night and laying in my bed praying and heard "Read James 1" I was like WHOA, and ignored the voice thinking I was crazy... but it kept reoccurring in my head so I finally got out of bed (which is not easy when you are as short as myself) got my bible and read James 1....

James 1:1-6
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."

Wow, what a blessing... I am going through all these mixed emotions to develop perseverance... God is great!

blogging... western... life

Well, I got a little jealous of my sister having a blog and EVERYONE talking about reading it... so I thought "why don't you make one" So here I am sitting in my dorm writing a blog! This will be a good way to keep all my family updated on what all is going on. This may be a pretty lengthy blog considering how bored I am and how much is on my mind :)

So let's get started...

Western... Wow, what a school! College is definitely an experience. It is a WHOLE new world. No one can truly prepare you for what all you will face at college. There is so many different aspects of being at college. If you don't already know, I am at Western Kentucky University and I will start classes this Monday. I am a little nervous but not really since I have already taken classes when I was a senior in High School... I'm taking Biology, History 119, and Economics on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays... those all are back to back starting at around 910 to 12 30 So I get a half day off to take naps and do homework and eventually work somewhere. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my easy days because I only have a PE class about Health and all that good stuff and University Experience which pretty much just introduces you to the University and is a fun good way to get to know people, or so I have heard. You probably can't tell that I am in college by the way my writing style is, sorry Mrs. Mason I really did listen in your class!

Dorm life really isn't that bad.. I am in Rodes Harlin which is in the Valley and Audrey Kaelin is my roommate I threatened her life if she drank my Orange Juice. We have decorated the room pretty well I am quite proud of us.. I still have some little things I need to get done.

Tomorrow I will be trying out a new church since I have to find one to go to here in Bowling Green. I will be going to Hillvue tomorrow morning. I am praying that God will show me where to go and where I will grow the most.

I am having a blast but am also missing home. I always thought Brennen would be my room mate and be at school with me but she is in Panama, Central America (go to brennengaddis.blogspot.com) to read about her adventures. I broke down for the first time tonight but I think I will be okay. It is so weird not being with mom an dad all the time. I didn't realize how much of a daddy's girl I am! But I'm going home this Friday since it's labor day so I will get to see them soon.

Anyways... I can't think of what else I was going to write. But I'll keep you updated!

With love, --Chelsea
